MR. FRENCH'S GRADE FOUR ENGLISH CLASS

The school has reopened but many students are still attending class from home via Webex.

HOMEROOM

In Homeroom today, students reviewed the Listening Exam which was canceled. 

This gave students a good chance to see how they might have scored.

CLASS 404 (A1)

In Class 404 (A1) today, students reviewed the previously assigned Homework 

(Read "Reading Street", page 226, "Greek and Latin Roots").

This assignment teaches students about word structure so they can comprehend the meaning of new 

and previously unknown words.

They also did a mini assignment, "Greek and Latin Roots".

This assignment teaches students to think of English words that have Greek or Latin roots

and write them in a complete sentence.

They also watched a short video about ancient Greece.

This gives students a view of some of the important contributions of the Greek civilization

SCIENCE

In Science Class today, students studied hurricanes. These are called typhoons in Asia and are destructive winds with heavy rain. 

EXPERIENCE CLASS

In Experience Class today, students made origami hurricane tops! This was a difficult project involving three separate squares of paper. But some students finished quickly with some beautiful art!
