                          MR. FRENCH'S GRADE FOUR ENGLISH CLASS    ______________ _________________________________________ Today was the last day of the Spring Semester, and students were busy packing up their belongings and tidying up the classroom. Their next stop will be 5th Grade! Congratulations are in order to Class 404 for a great year. Best wishes to you in the future! The Summer Homework has been given out,  so students should remember to complete and return it in the Fall. Summer School starts tomorrow ! Mr. French

                         MR. FRENCH'S GRADE FOUR ENGLISH CLASS    ______________ _________________________________________ The school is open, but some students are still attending class via Webex. Congratulations to the Class 404 winners of today's competition; Level I: Emily Huang, Level A2: Megan Mo and Level A1: Jason Wang! LEVEL A1 ENGLISH Class is winding down as we finish the semester. Overall, the students have had a great school year (2021-2022)! They have not only grown taller,  but their minds and knowledge have developed as well.  They are ready and well-prepared for 5th Grade! HOMEROOM In class today, students had their names drawn and paired for this afternoon's competition. Students in Levels I, A2 and A1 will compete with each other within their levels to see who is the best at Quickdraw and Jeopardy. Questions asked will be from this year's Reading Street Vocabulary and Stories. This will be a fun year-end activity to let students compete against each o

LEVEL A1 ENGLISH Class is winding down as we finish the semester. Overall, the students have had a great school year (2021-2022)! This is part of the  Reading Street  material related to the current Story, "Antarctic Journal". --------------------------------------------- See you tomorrow ! This helps reinforce the learning principles for the current Reading Street Story. --------------------------------------------- Students also learned a little more about the continent of Antarctica. This is supplemental material designed to provoke general conversation and listening comprehension and relates to the current Story, "Antarctic Journal". --------------------------------------------- Students also learned new Vocabulary from the Story, "Antarctic Journal". FRENCH'S GRADE FOUR ENGLISH CLASS    ______________ _________________________________________ The school is open, but some students are still attending class via Webex.                                     EXPERIENCE CLASS In class today, students did the erupting volcano experiment from the Paint & Play activity box. Two weeks ago, students painted their dinosaurs and volcanoes. Today, they put their volcanoes into action using baking soda and vinegar. This combination created a small simulated lava eruption.  HOMEROOM In class today, students made origami volcanoes! This relates to today's volcanoes and dinosaurs theme. Later in Experience Class, students will finish painting their plastic volcanoes from two weeks ago, then use them in a lava eruption experiment. Congratulations to our top two finalists for the Student of the Year Award! And the winner is... Congratulations to Benji Meyer for becoming Grade 4 Level A1 Class Student of the Year! CLASS 404 (Level A1) --------------------------------------------- Today was the culmination of 6 months of hard work! The students have studied well and learned much. And this afternoon, the best of the best was recognized: the Student of the Year! Congratulations are in order for this student as well as all the finalists. Well done, everyone! The Student of the Year competition is a chance for the top students to compete with each other and put to use the knowledge they've gained during this semester. The Final Three from today's Student of the Year competition! CLASS 404 (Level A1) --------------------------------------------- In the first half of class today, students reviewed the essay part of Monday's Exam. Writing well is an important skill, so this topic has been taught much this semester. The students are making good progress in this area! This activity helps students review the material covered during the most recent unit of the Reading Street textbook. --------------------------------------------- The second half of today's class was devoted to the Student of the Year competition. Today was Finals - Day 4, as the finalists demonstrated their knowledge of  the second Story they read this year, "Seeker of Knowledge". Each day this week, the winners have

                           MR. FRENCH'S GRADE FOUR ENGLISH CLASS    ______________ _________________________________________ The school is open, but some students are still attending class via Webex. In Experience Class, students had fun doing a DIY project! HOMEROOM --------------------------------------------- In Homeroom today, students finished presenting their Show and Tells. Most students did well, scoring between 70-100 percent. Public speaking is difficult, thus this is an area where students can improve. This Show and Tell assignment was a good start! CLASS 404 (Level A1) --------------------------------------------- In the first half of class today, students continued reviewing Monday's Exam. More of the questions were discussed, and students were explained the correct answers. This activity helps students review the material covered during the most recent unit of the Reading Street textbook. --------------------------------------------- The second half of today's
