MR. FRENCH'S FIRST GRADE ENGLISH CLASS

The current attendance is 37 children. They are behaving well and settling well into First Grade!



What We Did Today:


* Today, award stickers were given to students who showed good class participation and behavior last week!


* The students also studied the Reader's & Writer's Notebook, pages 9-12.

This is supporting material for the current Reading Street Story, "Sam".


* They also studied the ABC English Exercise Book, letters I & J.

This material focuses on handwriting skills.


* They also studied Reading Street 1.R, p. 20 - 23.

This is Common Core English Language Arts material recommended for First Grade
which focuses on spelling, phonics and reading comprehension.


* They also studied Phonics K, p. 27 - 28.

This is material from Scholastic which teaches matching sounds of spoken English with individual letters or groups of letters.


This Week's Vocabulary & Sentences:

"Yes, it is good."       "No, it is bad."      "Sit on the table."      "The ant is in my socks."
